SHIPPING / CARPENTRY Custom Crate Builder
Starting pay ranges from $12.00 to $15.00 per hour based on experience plus an excellent benefits package after completion of full probationary period. Full time day shift. Nazareth area.
DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Build custom made skids and crates for all items that are to be shipped. This requires a skilled level of carpentry experience and includes the knowledgeable use of circular saws and other power tools. This requires a level of abstract thinking to look at finished items and determine the type and shape of crate best suited to protect the piece in transit. Shipping personnel must operate gas powered forklifts (2 sit downs, one is 4,000 #'s and the other is 7,000 #'s). Very large structures must be guided with a boom attachment. Safety and alertness are a priority. A strong ability to focus on the tasks at hand as well as attention to detail. Familiarity with UPS Worldship is sought. Experience with computers for basic data entry. The company is not highly automated and much must be done manually, but basic computer skills are needed for inventory. Everyone helps out in every department. You will often be asked to assist in other departments or help with a co-workers project. Ideal employees are good at multi-tasking, have a "can do" flexible attitude, and are okay jumping between various jobs.
